The bomb came from a US plane.
It was the first atomic bomb in war.
Many people died that day.
Many more died later from sickness.
The city was badly damaged.
Three days later, another bomb hit Nagasaki.
After that, the war ended.
But the bombs caused great pain.
Today, Hiroshima is a quiet city.
People visit to remember the past.
They do not want this to happen again.
