1 - 2 minutesDonkey Dreamland, a rescue centre in Benalmádena, Spain, is now five years old. It opened in 2020 to help donkeys that were hurt, abandoned, or not cared for. Since then, it has saved many animals and welcomed thousands of visitors. People come to walk with the donkeys, feed them, and learn about how they live.
To celebrate the anniversary, the centre is organising special events. There will be farm tours, music, food, and talks about why donkeys need protection. Visitors can meet the animals and hear their stories. Many of the donkeys were in very bad condition when they arrived. Now, they are healthy and happy again.
Karen Misson, who started the centre, says every donkey has its own personality. Some are shy, some are playful, but all of them enjoy being around people. Donkey Dreamland depends on volunteers and donations to continue its work. It is not just a place to help animals, but also a place where people can feel calm and connected.
