Many people feel sick from the heat. The government says, “Stay inside. Drink water. Use a fan or air conditioner.”
Some schools stop outdoor play. Some people work at home. Shops sell many cold drinks.
The weather is hot because of something called El Niño. It makes the weather change.
Big cities get hotter than small towns. This is called the “heat island” effect.
People in Tokyo hope it gets cool soon.
